Is it time to get a brand refresh?

A few weeks ago, when the lockdown started, I felt my business was stuck. I realised I was offering too many services. So I decided it was time to focus not only on my business but on myself to understand where I was and what I wanted from my business.

So I went back to the beginning. After reflecting on my business, I realised I still love and am passionate about what The Blue Cherry was all about. I realised that it was crucial for me to truly feel passion for what I do to help my clients. However, I developed new skills and decided to niche down. Therefore, I decided to do a brand refresh.

A brand refresh allowed me to keep some of the elements of the brand I loved and make small changes to the visual identity to modernise it, so it's not a complete transformation, such as the case of a rebrand.

I want to share how I approached a brand refresh on my own business:

Redefine your brand foundations:  

How do you feel about your offerings and your business brand? Do you still feel passionate about them? Has anything changed? Be honest with yourself. Has your product or services changed? Has your target audience changed? What about your competition? In my case, it was the same target audience or competitors, which was perfect for a brand refresh.

Create a brand strategy: Gather all your information and create a brand refresh strategy for your business.

Create a Visual element: A logo is the visual part of the brand identity, not the whole brand identity. Analyse if it’s time to completely change your brand identity, which would mean a rebrand, or if you need a brand refresh.

Communicate your brand: Communicate your brand to your target audience through carefully created content that is interesting and relevant to your audience.
